On April 3, a manifestation called "Gračanica in Budapest" opened in Tekelijanum, which included an exhibition of photographs of Pristina, Prizren, Lipljan and Gračanica, entitled "Images of Life" from the collection of Albert Kahn, a famous French philanthropist from the early 20th century, along with a cultural and artistic program.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, addressed the guests, emphasizing that the Serbian cultural and spiritual treasure of Kosovo and Metohija transcends not only temporal but also spatial boundaries and that Kosovo and Metohija is not just a geographical toponym, but a spiritual vertical of Serbian being and identity that we always carry within us wherever we are. He also conveyed the deep gratitude of the Serbian State and the Serbian people of Kosovo and Metohija to Hungary as a true friend.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Hungary, Aleksandra Đurović, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing that it was an exceptional honor and privilege for her to greet the guests and compatriots from Kosovo and Metohija in Budapest. She recalled the tragic events from our recent history, such as the war of 1998-1999 and the Pogrom of March 17, 2004, and emphasized that our task is to continue to remind in principle that Kosovo and Metohija are an inalienable part of the Serbian state, for which we continue to fight by all democratic, diplomatic and legal means. She also said that Hungary has full understanding for our situation in Kosovo and Metohija and that it is a strong partner in preserving peace in this region.
The event was organized by the Diocese of Buda, with the support of the Cultural Center of Gračanica and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
