The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Hungary, Aleksandra Đurović, participated in the meeting of the Ambassadors of candidate countries for the EU membership with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto.
The topic of the meeting was the EU enlargement process and the activities undertaken by Hungary within the EU Council presidency. Minister Szijjarto expressed his full support to the process of the European integration of the Republic of Serbia and further progress in the opening of clusters in the negotiation process. He stressed that the efforts made by Serbia in the reform process should be valued by the EU. He expressed the view that at the current moment the Union needs to expand due to geopolitical changes.
Ambassador Đurović thanked Hungary for the support it provides to Serbia in the integration process and the open approach to the enlargement policy. She emphasized Serbia's intention to implement the legal, economic and political reforms necessary for full EU membership by 2027.
The ambassadors of Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova and Turkey attended the event.
